After take off, the engine is shut down and all you hear is, well, nothing except the wind over your wings. There is no engine noise to disrupt the glorious experience as you soar over ridges or circle up, higher and higher on the wind currents. This is your chance to experience the joys of flying in a glider. Read more about the Grob motorglider.
Seattle / Puget Sound
We provide rides in the Seattle/Puget Sound areas during the good weather, usually early summer to early fall. When the weather in Seattle starts to get wet, we follow the sun south.
We fly out of Renton Municipal Airport.
If you are looking for things to do in Seattle, you found the right place. With our sightseeing glider rides, you could see these sights, depending on the visibility, wind conditions and the length of your flight.
Ever wish you had a photograph of your home from the air? How about an aerial picture of Mount Rainier? Or a moonlit shot of the city? Let us show you why Washington is called the Evergreen State . The picturesque Puget Sound area is begging for you to bring back photographs from the air. We can give you a tour or you can show us on the map where you would like to go and what you'd like to see. Here are some possibilities:
Self-Launching Convenience with a Back Up Engine
Our motorized, self-launching glider lets us give you a better, more diverse flight than we would be able to in a pure glider that needs to be towed. With our auxiliary engine, we can fly where ever, from Olympia to the San Juans, or fly later and see a sunset and the beautiful lights of the city at night. We can motor to areas where the soaring is good. And if the air lift fails, we can motor home. It's just like a sailboat with an engine, so you can go where you want to, even when nature isn't cooperating. The engine can be re-started during the flight at any time, assuring that your flight will last the full length of time.
With our self-launching glider, you have the best of both worlds. The engine is there when you need it and silent when you don't.
It is also possible to go touring with our motorglider, from the San Juans, to Mt. Rainier, or even go out for a jaunt over the incredibly beautiful and remote Pacific coast of Washington. We've flown our glider over the Grand Canyon, Rocky Mountains, Sierra Mountains, Lake Tahoe, California coastline, and even as far as El Paso, Texas. Where would you like to go if you could?
Our glider seats two side-by-side which allows for an unobstructed view out the front and the side. Wow your friends with the spectacular aerial photographs you'll bring back.
Our standard rides range from 25 minutes to one hour and cost between $100 to $200. Customized flights can be arranged. Gift Certificates are available, too.
Soaring may not be one of the things you thought of when planning your vacation, but what fun soaring is! And while you're up there, you can take some spectacular aerial scenic photos. Won't that impress your friends when you get back home?

The prefect gift is one which someone would really love but would never buy for themselves. And here you have it! Who wouldn't appreciate a gift certificate for a gloriously peaceful and quiet glider ride where they can take in all the beauty of the surrounding scenery from up in the sky?
